School
Bake sale sign-up
A bake sale needs both brownies and someone to stand at the table during second recess. Mixing those jobs on one sheet keeps the gym from being full of cake and empty of cashiers.
Why the group text fails
The PTA email says “bring something sweet.” Forty cookies and no gluten-free option show up, and the morning shift is uncovered because that was a different email.
What the sheet should do
- Goods and shifts live on the same link, with different capacities.
- The note is the place to write “two dozen chocolate chip, contains nuts.”
- You can close the sheet the night before and print or export who is bringing what.
Tips from running this kind of sheet
- Split allergens on purpose: a nut-free tray slot and a regular tray slot.
- Ask for packaged or labeled items if the school requires ingredient lists.
- Staff the table in 45-minute shifts. Parents can do one recess more easily than the whole morning.
- Add a setup slot the afternoon before and a cleanup slot at the end. Those are the ones that otherwise fall on the organiser.

Questions
Can one person bring food and work a shift?
Yes, unless you turn on one slot per email. Leave that off for a bake sale.
How do we share it?
Copy the sheet link into the PTA newsletter or class chat. Families do not create an account.
