Teacher appreciation week sign-up
Appreciation week collapses into muffins on Monday and nothing on Thursday. Give each day a slot and a definition of “enough.”
Why the group text fails
A well-meaning form says “sign up to spoil the staff.” Twelve people bring coffee Monday. The night custodian, who isn’t in the lounge at 8 a.m., gets skipped.
What the sheet should do
- Days are slots with a capacity that matches the staff headcount.
- You can add a slot specifically for specialists, aides, and the office — people the lounge basket misses.
- Notes say what someone is bringing so Tuesday isn’t five fruit trays.
Tips from running this kind of sheet
- Ask the principal what the staff actually wants before you open sweets for five days.
- Include a no-food slot: covering a recess duty, or writing a specific note, if food fatigue is real at your school.
- Put dietary needs in the description if the social committee already knows them. Don’t guess medical details.
- Set drop-off times. A surprise at 2:55 helps no one.
Starter slots
We’re feeding about 40 staff. Please drop food in the lounge by 7:45. Friday is notes, not more sugar. The button below copies these into a new sheet you can edit before anyone sees it.

Questions
Forty note slots seems like a lot.
That’s the point. One note per staff member is a different job from one tray of cookies. Lower it if you’re only covering a grade.
Can families sign up for more than one day?
Yes. Leave one-per-email off.
