Picture day helper sign-up
Picture day is 12 minutes of chaos per class. Helpers who know which hallway they own are the difference between a line and a clump.
Why the group text fails
The photographer’s schedule is tight. A vague request for “a few parents” produces a crowd at 9:00 and an empty gym after lunch, which is when the older grades go.
What the sheet should do
- Shifts follow the photographer’s blocks, not a single all-day slot.
- Capacity matches comb and line jobs, which are different.
- You can export names for the office sign-in sheet.
Tips from running this kind of sheet
- Tell helpers not to post photos of other people’s children.
- Ask them to use the adult entrance and sign in. Say that in the description.
- A “spare uniform shirts” slot is useful if your school does that.
- Remind helpers the afternoon before. Picture day is easy to forget until the morning backpack panic.

Questions
Can I help only for my child’s class?
Yes. Put the grade in the note and pick the shift that matches the photographer’s schedule. Ask the office for that schedule before you open the sheet.
Do helpers see other families’ emails?
No. Emails are on your dashboard only.
